CALL FOR DIRECT ACTION TO STOP THE KILLING IN GAZA

The killing in Gaza must end, and in a sense, there is nothing else to say. Our papers are flooded with protracted statements of condemnation, as if simply enumerating the bodies, the history, and the lies will this time have an impact. As if the right photo or statistic will finally stir the hearts of the majority, restore an ethical consciousness to the imperialists, and sway the disinterested politicians that there is no justification for starvation. There is no justification for chemical warfare. There is no justification for mass murder. Our response to the killing in Gaza–to the systematic bombing of over a million forced residents in an open-air prison–cannot stop with words, rationalization, argument. As US-residents, we must understand ourselves as financiers of the massacre in Gaza. We cannot remain mere moral humanitarian objectors. It is up to us to respond to this genocidal project with immediate direct action, large or small, against the means of its production. Strike, occupy, boycott, and sabotage its arms. Gazans cannot rely on the obsolete electoral process and its self-interested politicians to stop bombs from falling, to stop white phosphorous from burning, to stop children from dying. Only direct action can end the killing in Gaza. Self-determination for Palestine now.
